About us

CQS is a Classic Car Atelier specialising in Citroën and Maserati.

Establishment & history:

Dieter Pétré is a legal expert by education but after a few years work at the bar and in business he resolutely chose to follow his true passion: the heartfelt admiration for André Citroëns achievements in combining technological innovation and sober elegance with many of his realisations.

Finding it hard to keep away from garages as it was, he could now give full rein to his urge for quality and service in his own business CQS established in Lubbeek.

Convinced in his belief that he could only reach his goals in a team of able people, fate brought him together with Duncan Hall,an English engineer sharing his passion and having lots of experience in thoroughly overhauling Citroën, Maserati, Bentley and other top models of cars Duncan ran a restauration company of hiw own in Manchester before he found himself in Belgium.

Together they are the tandem running CQS and transforming it to an efficient, professional yet soulfull company.

CQS Group now:

CQS Group currently consists of several companies with a team of eleven enthusiastic and passionate employees and has recently moved to larger accommodation in Tienen, Belgium.

The CQS Group now engages in many other activities in addition to the restoration and sale of Citroën old timers. For example, CQS Group has a rentals company Locadream that focuses on hiring out 2CVs, Meharis and other classic Citroëns for recreational activities and event, but Porsches and delivery vans are also part of our rental range.

The collaboration with Mehari Club Cassis in France allowed Dieter to found Citroparts.com. This enterprise sells, distributes and ships original 2hp and Mehari parts across the world. Another newly founded company 2CV Mehari Factory specialises in completely overhauling your 2hp or Mehari and reconditioning parts for these models and related cars. DIY enthusiasts can buy semi-finished cars to make their restoration projects a success. Besides these activities, CQS Group and engineering school Group T in Leuven is developing an electric and a hybrid motor for a 2CV. Together they participate in various events to acquaint the public with the past and the future of the 2CV.

In order to support all of this, Dieter has an extensive network. From 2008, he was chairman of the ACI (Amicale Citroën Internationale) for four years.

Dieter clearly opts for a business based on perfection, in which innovation and sustainability are important values.
